- Reasons for recommending:
This simple method (PROTOMAP) provides a totally unbiased and comprehensive picture of the proteome and is ideal for proteomic comparisons in many different contexts. It promises to replace 2D Gel Electrophoresis for many applications. In addition to the reported application of identification and characterization of protease substrates, it can be used to identify changes in abundance, post-translational modifications, and translocations.
