Quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics has been increasingly applied on a large scale to address interesting biological questions; we thus selected it as a Method to Watch in 2008. Has the technology matured enough yet to be considered as Method of the Year in 2009, or are further methodological developments still needed?

The paper by Malmstrom et al from the Aebersold lab in Nature (see other posting in "proteomics") is another good strike for quantitative mass spec.
