Genomic fluidity and pathogenic bacteria: applications in diagnostics, epidemiology and intervention
-
Original article citation: Nat Rev Micro 6," 387 - 394, (2008). - Categories: Cell & Molecular Biology and Ecology & Evolution
- Recommended by : Irshad AHMED on 04/17/2008 08:30AM GMT
Its a good opinionated piece which I think is the first commissioned article in a Nature journal from CDFD. The paper systematically highlights how genome evolution in pathogenic bacteria can be put to action in healthcare. - Comment on this subject: 2 comments made

The I-Tetraplex Building Block: Rational Design and Controlled Fabrication of Robust 1D DNA Scaffolds through Non-Watson–Crick Interactions
-
Original article citation: Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 46," 2646 - 2649, (2007). - Categories: Chemistry and Materials
- Recommended by : Dipanwita Das on 04/03/2008 10:17AM GMT
Robust 1D scaffolds have been designed based on the I tetraplex by a strategy of inducing bidirectional growth on 'slipped' tetraplexes, leading to nanowires more than 3 micrometres long, which grow through non-Watson-Crick base-pairing. - Comment on this subject: 0 comments made

Strongly Correlated Superconductivity in Rh_{17}S_{15}
-
Original article citation: Phys. Rev. Lett. 100," (2008). - Categories: Physics
- Recommended by : arumugam thamizhavel on 04/03/2008 02:58AM GMT
The compound Rh17S15 is a naturally occuring mineral which is named as Miasite and is available in Miass River in Southern Urals, Russia. The first observation of superconductivity was reported 50 years ago. This paper describes the detailed superconducting properties of this compound which has large effective masses due to strong electron correlations. - Comment on this subject: 0 comments made

Stability via Asynchrony in Drosophila Metapopulations with Low Migration Rates

Original article citation: Science 312," 434 - 436, (2006). - Categories: Ecology & Evolution
- Recommended by : Biplab Das on 04/02/2008 07:27AM GMT
Contrary to some theoretical predictions, this research shows that increased migration did not affect average population size of Drosophila. - Comment on this subject: 0 comments made
